About

20 years dedicated to the care and wellbeing of dogs

My name is Delina.

I’m a professional behaviourist and founder of Trust in Dog.

My life is one that has been filled with animals of all shapes and sizes from an early age. I was brought up on a small holding, and have been heavily involved with horses and dogs throughout. My dad was always buying and selling horses and took in all kinds of dogs that were either neglected or had nowhere to go.

So, I was surrounded by animals and eventually these became my passion. During those years I built up an understanding of how and why dogs behave the way they do. It just became natural to me and dogs seem to have a connection and we seem to ‘get’ each other.

So, because of this understanding I’ve spent years in close contact with dogs through dog boarding and re-homing, quietly building up more knowledge and that led me gaining an accreditation in canine behaviour and training. Experience over the years has taught me compassion, patience and a deep respect of the way dogs see the world.

How they always forgive even after being badly treated, they can still wag a tail. We must learn to understand their language if we want to succeed and that’s part of my job, teaching owners how the dogs brain works.
